Located within the iconic Queens Hotel in Leeds, the interior of Cinnamon Kitchen is crafted to reflect the quality and theatre of its food. Rich velvets, raw metals and brass finishes create a layered, tactile backdrop, shaped by the building’s Grade II listed status and a tightly controlled programme to ensure a sensitive yet deliverable scheme.

Inspired by historic Indian railways and spice routes, the space evokes the experience of travelling in a luxurious carriage through India’s countryside, celebrating the hotel’s connection to Leeds Station and the golden age of rail travel through high ceilings, baroque accents and a dramatic mural. Operationally, the restaurant was designed to flex seamlessly between hotel breakfast service and Cinnamon Kitchen’s lunch and evening dining. Bespoke free-standing joinery units with tambour-style doors were created to open for breakfast and elegantly conceal hotel equipment during restaurant service, maintaining both efficiency and design integrity.
